Using a software to usurp Visa card’s account information of the victims, he believed that he can perform a purchase transaction of 3,000,000 VND-value Vcoin card. However, his action was blocked by anti-hack “rule” set by the International Payment Gateway VTC Pay.
Automatically reject questionable transactions
Hackers normally leave traces that are completely different from that of the real cardholders while trading. Our system has been programmed to recognize and automatically reject questionable transactions based on the smallest doubts.
Payment Gateway VTC Pay always has a daily check with customers on their information in situations of transaction rejection due to hack suspicions. This step aims at re-verifying information on cardholder accounts and detecting hackers.
On August 4th 2015, it was said by a customer Thao Le that “My credit card currently has been attacked by a hacker using keylog software to usurp the password and he has performed numerous successful purchase transactions. The financial losses would be millions VND. Only at VTC Pay, transactions were unsuccessful and I have been assisted to take back my money. Thank VTC Pay very much”
Currently,
VTC Pay are putting the best efforts to assist Thao Le in seeking hacker based on information stored in the website.
Protect customer accounts by numerous security methods
In addition to detecting early fake transactions, another reason explaining the trust of customers about safety of transactions via
Payment Gateway VTC Pay would be that we apply multi-method of security, including:
Verifying international online card transaction - 3D Secure (namely “Verified by Visa” (for Visa card) and “MasterCard SecureCode” (for MasterCard): Apply to customers registering the service at issuing banks when they perform transactions at website having symbol of 3D Secure. Each transaction will have an additional step of verification via a password sent by the issuing bank to the cardholder via SMS. This step would create a security “fence” for transactions paid via International cards; therefore, customer’s money will be protected even if the card information was lost.
Payment Tokenization: with this security service, VTC Pay could encode customer’s profile including personal information into a Token ID – a verification number series that can replace customer information in payment transactions.
Therefore, with this solution, hackers attacking cardholder accounts will receive a meaningless number series only and customer information would still be secured.
OTP (One time password) and ODP (One day Password)
